Spring has finally arrived in New York after a long, chilly winter, and I can’t help but reflect on a recent, inspiring interaction that reignited my passion for international education.

It all began with an unexpected email from Eric Ginola, the Interim Director of Center for International Educational Exchange in Berlin. His message wasn’t just an invitation—it was a heartfelt recognition of the life-changing experience I had while studying abroad in Berlin. Eric’s words reminded me how deeply these moments abroad can elevate the spirit, open the mind, and spark both personal transformation and entrepreneurial ambition.

My time in Berlin was nothing short of transformative. That journey inspired me to launch what I now call “The C.I.E.E. Project”—a creative initiative dedicated to producing authentic videos that motivate students across the globe to explore study abroad opportunities. One story I love sharing is how, during our entrepreneurship class, a fellow student named Dylan Foler was inspired to pitch an idea that later became Aerophonica—an aeroponic robotics company focused on microgreens. Fueled by the quality of produce we enjoyed in Germany and a hunger to innovate, Dylan now envisions our company reaching global markets. That moment was a reminder that immersive, international learning experiences can catalyze ideas that change the world.

So when I heard Eric’s words—his genuine recognition of my enthusiasm and the invitation to serve as a CIEE Campus Ambassador—I felt a powerful wave of excitement and gratitude. It reaffirmed everything I believe about international education: that it can be the spark that lights up a lifetime of growth, purpose, and connection.

My experience with CIEE was magical. I carry that magic with me, and I’ve witnessed its impact on fellow students who still talk about how it changed their lives. Their stories, like mine, are filled with joy, discovery, and empowerment.

Today, I’m honored to step into my new role as a CIEE Campus Ambassador, ready to support and inspire others to take that leap. I want students to know that stepping outside one's comfort zone—whether it’s for a semester in Berlin or a summer in Cape Town—can be the beginning of something extraordinary.
